Abstract:
PDF scans of City of Santa Maria Street Intersection Tie Books were donated by Penfield & Smith to the County Surveyors Office on 3/15/2011 for posting to the public website and for use as a resource. These Polygons represent indexing sheets for the indexing points that are a graphical index representation of monumentation activity, filed with the City of Santa Maria as City Street Intersection Tie Books. |
Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.
The data set was created to provide a spatial index for land survey record research.
Each polygon represents the geographical extent of an indexing sheet that shows street centerline tie monuments each street centerline intersection ties book sheet is sybmolyzed in the complimentary point shapefile coverage of the indexed street centerlin intersction tie books sheets. Where an individual point references possible set / found monument ties within a radius of 50-100 feet. Some Tie Book Sheets reference several intersections or areas farther apart than the 50-100 foot radius. In these instances another point is represented to indicate the monumentation that is included in the same official document, but goes beyond the scope of the 50-100 foot radius. In this case the point is identified as the same Tie Book Sheet Record #. Points were snapped to either the County Assessor's Roads dataset or the County Sherriff's Dispatch Road Centerline dataset.
